Paid traffic was creating carts, but too many buyers disappeared before checkout
The brand was spending heavily on Meta and Google Ads, but abandoned carts were handled only by email. Most buyers in India checked WhatsApp more than email, and COD orders were shipped without confirmation, creating avoidable RTO losses. Support agents also spent hours answering order status questions that Shopify already knew.
A WhatsApp commerce workflow connected directly to Shopify events
We connected Shopify events to n8n and WhatsApp Business API. Cart abandoners received contextual messages with product names, offer logic, and checkout links. COD orders were held until WhatsApp confirmation. Shipping updates, delivery reminders, return policy answers, and review requests were automated without removing human support for edge cases.
